American Cast Iron Pipe Company
Official Website: www.american-usa.com ↗American Cast Iron Pipe Company (AMERICAN) was founded in 1905 in Birmingham, Alabama, as a manufacturer of fire hydrants, valves, ductile iron pipe and spiral-welded steel pipe for the waterworks industry, plus high-frequency-welded steel pipe for the energy and carbon capture industries. The employee-owned company, willed to its workers by founder John Eagan, regards employees as family and was recognized as 2026 Large Manufacturer of the Year.
Its flow control line covers municipal and industrial applications with the American-Darling and Waterous brands: gate valves from 2 to 66 inches, check valves, indicator posts, tapping sleeves, hydrant security products and remote pressure monitoring technology. AMERICAN's ductile iron pipe serves municipal water and wastewater distribution and transmission markets as well as industrial and power markets, including fabrication for treatment plants and pump stations, all produced in world-class facilities with quality processes that reflect the company's long-standing integrity.
