PT Bakrie Pipe Industries

PT Bakrie Pipe Industries (BPI) is the pioneer of welded steel pipe manufacturing in Indonesia, with a history that began in 1959 when H. Achmad Bakrie established the first steel pipe plant under the name Talang Tirta with a production capacity of 5/8 to 6 inches. In 1981 the company was officially renamed PT Bakrie Pipe Industries with an expanded capacity of up to 24 inches, and today it operates with an annual capacity of 310,000 MT using High-Frequency Electric Resistance Welding (HF-ERW) technology, with HSAW steel pipe production available up to 140 inches for large-scale infrastructure projects.

BPI products serve water distribution and fire protection, oil and gas, pile and structural, petrochemical, electricity and telecommunication, and geothermal sectors. Through its subsidiary PT Southeast Asia Pipe Industries (SEAPI), established in 1996 in Lampung, the group adds LSAW pipes with an annual capacity of 120,000 MT and, since 2019, has extended its portfolio with Helical Submerged Arc Welding (HSAW) technology. The company also provides galvanizing, coating and slitting services, supported by an integrated jetty facility for on-time delivery.
