AMERICAN, founded in 1905 in Birmingham, Alabama, is a manufacturer of fire hydrants, valves, ductile iron pipe and spiral-welded steel pipe for the waterworks industry. Its ductile iron pipe serves municipal water and wastewater distribution and transmission markets as well as industrial and power markets, including fabrication for treatment plants and pump stations.

The portfolio includes American-Darling and Waterous brand flow control products such as gate valves from 2 to 66 inches, check valves, indicator posts, tapping sleeves, hydrant security and remote pressure monitoring technology, plus spiralweld pipe for water, wastewater, hydroelectric and power markets, and high-frequency-welded steel pipe to API standards for energy and carbon capture applications.
