EL-O-Matic, founded in the Netherlands in 1973 as a subcontract machine shop that specialized early in pneumatic rack-and-pinion actuators, grew into a global actuation brand with more than three million actuators sold into the toughest process applications. Today the brand belongs to Emerson, where it completes Emerson's actuation portfolio alongside Fisher control valves, ASCO solenoids and Aventics pneumatics. The current F-Series rack-and-pinion actuators, available in double-acting and spring-return configurations across thirteen sizes, embody the company's fit-and-forget engineering philosophy: cast aluminum bodies with two-part protective coating, aircraft-grade aluminum pinions, stainless fasteners and modular internals designed so accessories mount quickly and the mechanism runs faultlessly through a long service life. Actuators are ISO 5211-compatible with Namur interfaces for direct pilot mounting, and carry ATEX and IECEx intrinsic safety and explosion-proof approvals for hazardous areas. EL-O-Matic units are widely applied on ball, butterfly and plug valves in chemical, refining, power, pharmaceutical and food plants, and the brand remains one of the most frequently cloned actuator designs in the Asian market — a backhanded tribute to its engineering.
