Universal Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (UMEC)

Universal Microelectronics Co., Ltd. (UMEC) was founded in February 1984 in Taichung, Taiwan, to supply high-quality electronic components to the IT industry. Starting with delay line production in 1984, the company developed electromagnetic components and became a pioneer of DC-DC power converters in Taiwan, earning orders from major international manufacturers.

Current products include electromagnetic passive components, power products, FMCW millimeter-wave radar sensors, and electric vehicle and battery chargers, alongside customized design and manufacturing services. To expand capacity, UMEC established factories in Shenzhen and Longyan in mainland China from 1994 and in Hanoi, Vietnam in 2013, supported by offices in Taipei, the United States, Japan and China. The company also advances sustainability through rooftop solar installations, energy efficiency upgrades and reforestation projects pursuing carbon neutrality.
